Verbatim transcription of interviews is a standard data management strategy in qualitative research. Our house style has been developed with qualitative research in mind, incorporating feedback from the researchers we work with.
Sometimes it’s desirable for non-verbal cues to be incorporated into the transcript – our typists are happy to work with any bespoke guidelines for discourse analysis, and/or anonymisation of the transcript.
We’ve always ensured that our data security procedures are in line with the requirements of university ethics boards, as well as the GDPR and DPA2018.
